Children on the move is a project working to create a lasting record of evacuation in Staffordshire. Whether you were an evacuee or not, if you have an evacuation momory to share we would love to hear from you!

Hazel Robinson

Hazel was evacuated privately to live with her grandparents in Alton. Her uncle drove her up in his car, and she was sick all the way there.

Evelyn Green

Evelyn was born in India, and moved to Colchester when she was 6 months old. From here the family were evacuated to Stoke-on-Trent, and lived in many homes.

Beryl Alderson

Beryl's parents took on two evacuees during the Second World War. One of these girls, Muriel, was a very lovable character, who spent an age getting ready for school in the morning.
